Night crew · Port Calder
If water is moving, call first.
Burst pipes, no heat, and systems that quit. A person answers. If you can reach the shutoff without stepping into water, turn it off, then call.
Stop the water if you can do it safely
The main is usually where the line enters, on a basement wall or in a utility closet. Turn the handle clockwise until it stops. Do not stand in water to reach it.
Keep people off wet floors
If a ceiling is dripping onto a water heater, switch that breaker off so the unit does not fire dry. Stay away from a live panel if the floor is wet.
Then call
Tell us the street, what is leaking or what quit, and whether the main is off. The night line is (555) 018-0144.
If you smell gas
Do not hunt for a switch. Leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. Then call us.
Cannot call this minute?
